For centuries, African societies lived in harmony with nature.

They embraced diversity, understanding that life exists in many forms.

But something changed.

Before colonization, many African cultures accepted different sexual identities.

There were no harsh judgments.

No laws criminalizing love.

People simply lived.

But then came foreign religions and colonial rule.

They labeled LGBTQ+ people as unnatural.

They brought homophobia, forcing Africans to reject their own.

But here’s the truth; LGBTQ+ people have always existed in Africa.

They are not a Western concept. They are not new.

They are part of nature, just like the sun, water, and trees.

If something exists naturally, why should it be condemned?

Who decides what is “normal” and what is not?

Colonial laws still shape today’s thinking.

Many African countries still enforce anti-LGBTQ+ laws inherited from colonial rulers.

But these laws are not African. They were imposed.

They were designed to divide and control.

It’s time to question these beliefs.

Why should someone’s identity bother others if they cause no harm?

Why should love be criminalized?

Why should people suffer for being who they are?

African societies must reconnect with their original values; acceptance, community, and love.

True African wisdom teaches respect for all.

The future of Africa is one where everyone belongs.

It’s time to break free from colonial chains.

It’s time to embrace all Africans.
